Here are the diameters of the different wave patterns:
Wavy | 2.8 cm in diameter |
Curly | 2.2 cm in diameter |
Frizzy | 2 cm in diameter |
Afro | 0.4 cm in diameter |
For wavy, curly, coily, and afro hair, we don’t recommend doing blowouts or other techniques that can damage the hair fiber. It’s also not recommended to thin out the hair or texturize it with thinning scissors, because the wave may be greatly reduced. Instead, go for a wide-tooth comb or finger styling to keep the wave pattern. We recommend the "scrunching" technique to get optimal styling for curls (this is a technique where you scrunch your hair from the bottom up to activate your curls and give them more bounce before or after drying). Also keep in mind that for short haircuts, the wave may be less visible because waving techniques can’t be done all the way to the roots.
