When you get your hair system, sometimes the membrane might be a little folded on itself because of how it was shipped, especially if it got warm along the way. Don’t worry, this is a common and easy-to-fix problem. In this article, we’ll show you how to unfold the membrane of your hair system properly so you don’t risk any tears.
Why can your hair system membrane be folded?
Hair systems are made from thin materials that are sensitive to heat. If they get hot while being shipped, sometimes the membrane folds over a bit. It might look worrying, but there’s a really simple fix for this.
How do you unfold your hair system's membrane?
Get some hot water ready: Fill a bowl or a sink with hot (but not boiling) water. Just warm enough to feel comfortable to the touch.
Soak the hairpiece: Gently dip the hairpiece in the hot water. Make sure the whole membrane is underwater.
Wait a few minutes: Let the hairpiece sit in the hot water for about 2 to 3 minutes. This helps the membrane relax and slowly unfold.
Take the hairpiece out: Once you've waited long enough, carefully take the hairpiece out of the hot water.
Shape it again: If the membrane isn't totally unfolded yet, you can gently reshape it with your fingers. Just be sure not to press too hard, so you don't damage it.
Air dry: Let the hairpiece air dry for a while. Make sure it's completely dry before you wear it.
